Paul Sullivan posts about Neal Cotts’ season ending surgery.
Triple-A left-hander Neal Cotts is out for the season after undergoing elbow reconstruction surgery on Thursday in Cincinnati.
“Obviously it’s disappointing,” general manager Jim Hendry said. “He was starting to throw better at Iowa.”
Dr. Timothy Kremchek performed the surgery.Cotts was 0-2 with a 7.36 earned-run average with the Cubs before being demoted last month.
