Carlos Zambrano still wants a new park. Zambrano, who already had professed his love for Milwaukee’s Miller Park last year, is now jealous of the new Yankee Stadium.
Color Carlos Zambrano green with envy.
Standing in the luxurious visitors’ clubhouse of the new Yankee Stadium, the Cubs’ right-hander dreamed of a replacement for Wrigley Field.
“You come into a ballpark like this and you see great things,” Zambrano told the Associated Press on Saturday. “You wish that Chicago’d build a new stadium for the Cubs.”
Manager Lou Piniella didn’t agree with Zambrano’s assessment.
“I don’t see why,” Piniella said when asked if the Cubs need a new ballpark. “Wrigley’s got its own uniqueness.”
