Report: Weis to return
Surprise! Charlie may be back. No confirmations yet, but multiple outlets including ESPN are claiming Weis is back in 2009. Maybe that buyout is big after all. Or maybe Urban Meyer and Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly turned them down quickly.
Scout.com, WNDU-TV and the South Bend Tribune, cite anonymous sources that say Weis will be back for 2009.
“There has been no official work from the university, but we have it from a couple of sources that he will be back for 2009,” WNDU sports director Jeff Jeffers told ESPN Tuesday night.
The school, however, would not confirm or deny the reports.
