Rick Reilly’s new column for ESPN the magazine features the order of importance of sports teams in some major cities. Some Chicago White Sox and Blackhawks fans have to be confused to say the least. Reilly’s list for Chicago includes the Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and then Notre Dame Football.
The Sox and Blackhawks don’t even get a mention? Like the White Sox brass needs more fuel to hate the Chicago media and the Cubs, now this. Meanwhile on Madison Street, Blackhawks Pres. John Mc Donugh has pulled out every trick in his book to make the team viable again in the city. John- Mac set up the Hawks and Red Wings to play at Wrigley this winter and brought back every Hawks “legend” he could put in an old car on ice. The Hawks also have a new TV deal with WGN, brought back Pat Foley, and are broadcasting all home games!, and still no love from Rick Reilly.
Remember when De Paul basketball mattered?
CHICAGO Bears. The Cubbies are the Windy City’s cute Labradoodle pets, but the Bears are in the blood. “Everybody in Chicago loves the Bears,” admits Cubs shortstop Ryan Theriot. Pro football is to Chicago what airplanes are to Dayton. In third, the Bulls. Fourth, Notre Dame football.

Rick will be changing his tune when the Hawks take this town by storm this Winter. Just you watch how the Hawks leave a still developing Bulls team in the dust this season.

No one in Chicago gives a shit about the Bulls. Ask yourself the last time you actually heard someone say the Bulls were their favorite teams. Oh right, that would never happen. What a stupid list.

Ask yourself when was the last time anyone could name more than three players on the Blackhawks or the last time the Blackhawks made the playoffs.
